The Rotary
Club of Kololo is privileged to have LEAD THE WAY together
with the Rotary club of Kiwatule in sponsoring the Rotary
Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) for the year 2006/07 which
is a district project involving young people and Rotarians
throughout the district, aimed at developing qualities of
leadership and good citizenship in young people.
RYLA was officially adopted by Rotary International in
1971, and is one of the most significant and
fastest-growing programs of Rotary service. RYLA programs
often lead to the formation or strengthening of Rotaract
and Interact clubs. RYLA participants often go on to
become youth Exchange students or Ambassadorial Scholars
and finally Rotarians. This year¡¯s theme was ¡°LEADERSHIP
AND ETHICS¡±, and by the results and comments from
participants, I believe we ably tackled the subject well,
and went further to achieve the aims below:
Welcome back and its only Joy to relish the Moments that we had together
as we bonded, met and made new friends and most importantly benefited from
the numerous speakers or presenters we had.
